The Intune Connector is designed to integrate Microsoft Intune with the ServiceNow platform, allowing customers to automatically synchronize computer and software information from Intune into the ServiceNow CMDB. New features include syncing Intune, Autopilot, and iOS/Android devices. In addition, detailed Dell asset insights are provided.
This premium version offers unlimited device support, with the first 1500 devices at less than 20 cents per device per month. Try it for free for 30 days on non-prod instances.
Performance Considerations
The connector is optimized for medium-sized ServiceNow instances, efficiently handling synchronization with Microsoft Intune environments. Performance testing showed the solution can manage daily data imports with minimal impact on system resources. Import Set + Robust Transform Engine (RTE) ensures data is processed reliably, even for larger datasets.
Limitations
Supports only one Microsoft Intune environment for integration. Does not sync data into ServiceNow Software Asset Management (SAM) tables. Only synchronizes computers, mobile devices, and Dell devices managed by Intune.
Target Audience
This solution is ideal for organizations already using Microsoft Intune to manage their devices but lacking a ServiceNow ITOM license. Asset managers and IT administrators are looking to synchronize Intune-managed computers and software into the CMDB.
Installation Instructions
Install the Intune Connector Application from the ServiceNow Store. Use the Guided Setup module to configure the connection with Microsoft Intune. Set up the Azure application with the following application permissions:
- DeviceManagementManagedDevices.Read.All
- DeviceManagementApps.Read.All
- User.Read (if not added by default)
- DeviceManagementServiceConfig.Read.All
Test the connection and activate scheduled import jobs to ensure data synchronization.
Prerequisites
An active Microsoft Intune subscription. The Azure application is configured with the necessary API permissions. ServiceNow Vancouver or later.

1. Automated Data Sync Between Intune and ServiceNow CMDB
This feature enables seamless, automated synchronization of IT assets managed in Intune with the ServiceNow Configuration Management Database (CMDB). We include dedicated Intune data management with comprehensive synchronization of compliance status, enrollment state, management properties, security metadata, and user information, which is stored separately from standard CMDB lifecycle fields for improved data integrity and reporting flexibility.
2. Autopilot Integration
Get access to end-to-end tracking of devices from the moment they're procured, even before first use, and continue even when assets are retired.
3. Sync of iOS and Android devices
Expanded mobile coverage with sync of iOS and Android devices.
4. Dell Asset API integration
The latest version of our connector not only integrates Intune with ServiceNow but also supports Dell's public APIs, automatically enriching your laptop CIs with warranty, support, and manufacturer details for Dell Inc. customers. We include comprehensive warranty entitlement tracking with dedicated storage for all warranty types (INITIAL + EXTENDED), multiple extension cycles with individual start/end dates, different service level codes (ND, CB, CAR, etc.), and related list views on device CIs for complete warranty lifecycle visibility.
5. Automated Lifecycle Management
Intelligent device retirement when removed from Intune with complete audit trail preservation for compliance.
- Auto-retires devices removed from Intune automatically
- Maintains full audit history without deleting records
- Ensures lifecycle alignment between Intune and ServiceNow
6. Dashboard Integration for Real-Time Visibility
Provides a centralized Dashboard within ServiceNow to monitor and validate the Intune to CMDB data flow. This dashboard enhances operational transparency and helps IT teams ensure data accuracy, integration health, and asset completeness in the CMDB without requiring custom reporting.
7. Cost-Effective and Easy-to-Implement Solution
Offers out-of-the-box templates that simplify the setup process, requiring minimal configuration. Reduces the need for extensive custom development or third-party integration tools. Accelerates deployment time, allowing organizations to quickly benefit from the solution.
8. Standard ITSM Subscription Compatibility
Compatibility with Standard ITSM Subscriptions. Designed to work within the constraints of a standard ITSM subscription without requiring premium features or add-ons. Allows organizations to leverage existing ServiceNow investments without needing to upgrade to more expensive subscription plans.
